What an exciting show this week. We attended the Mid-Atlantic Grid League’s (MAGL) inaugural event!
The MAGL held it’s first ever GRID competition at their Northern Virginia venue located at Impavidus Gym. What was REALLY cool about this event is that it was comprised of “recreational” level athletes.
The MAGL has two separate divisions, a semi-pro and a recreational level. They took the opportunity to expose the sport of GRID to a level of athlete we really haven’t seen yet in GRID competitions. This tournament was open to teams made up of everyday athletes from a gym. The results were everything BUT average or everyday. With a packed house of spectators, athletes, referees and volunteers, the MAGL put on an awesome event.
We had Janice McLean, Director of the MAGL, as a guest host to talk to participants in the tournament and hear about their first experience with GRID. Stay tuned to their website for more info on the upcoming semi-pro competitions scheduled for April and June.
We lead off the show giving some thoughts and analysis of the recent NPGL announcement of the 2016 season. Don’t miss it!
