Lindy Barber and Whitney Gelin of the Boston Iron (1-1) join us to talk about their recovery from the CrossFit Games and how their bodies are feeling on gameday for the Boston Iron matchup against the NY Rhinos.
Lindy Barber talks about her best recovery from the games was REST. For 3 years her body has taken huge hits trying to make it to the CrossFit games and she can tell her body is just exhausted. For two entire days after the games she basically had Danny’s average Sunday and ate and slept all day long. She would sleep for 3 hours, wake up and eat and go back to sleep for another 3 hours. She AMRAP’d that sucker for 48 hours! Whitney Gelin talks about her mental aspect of getting ready for competition once one is completed. She and Lindy were both collegiate athletes and are used to recovering for another competition in a short time period. Whitney was also in the Southern Amateur Grid League, so she understands what is demanded from her body.
So check out what these ladies went through for recovery. This was shot the morning before their very first victory for the Boston Iron. You could already tell Boston was hungry for that win at 9 am, 8 hours before game time.
Share this along with your friends and stay tuned for an exciting second half of the season of the NPGL!
